Current Phases

In 2009, the Anglican Church of St John the Divine celebrated 375 years of worship in Antigua, 165 years since the first Cathedral was consecrated, and its 161st anniversary as Cathedral in the current building, the third incarnation of the Church on this site.  Because of the current condition of the Cathedral, four phases of restoration work have bee identified. A fund raiser, a ‘Black Tie Dinner & Ball’, was held at the Grand Royal Antiguan Resort to officially begin the restoration effort.

Every effort is being exerted to secure the necessary funds to affect the repairs, and although it is not an insurmountable task, it will be difficult to achieve our goal without the kind assistance of donor agencies, friends and well wishers.  The work to be carried out will be in phases depending on the availability of funds, and your kindness.

Arrangements are currently being made to facilitate receiving donations to help in this restoration effort from Antiguans and friends overseas.  We will advertise on this web site when those arrangements are finalized, and will also provide periodic updates on the progress of the restoration effort. In the interim, if you wish to make a donation to this restoration effort, we can be reached through the contact information on the "Contact Us" page.  We ask for your thoughts, prayers and donations to this worthy effort, with God's Blessing.
